Vedic astrology in Nepal, done the traditional way
Swastishanti is a Vedic astrology practice based in Kathmandu. The Ashtakoot method scores eight kootas out of thirty-six Guna. The score is the starting point, not the verdict: Nadi, Bhakoot and Mangal Dosha each need reading in context, and several have recognised cancellations. A number on its own has broken more matches than it has saved.
Shubh Muhurat — choosing the day
Vivah, griha pravesh, bratabandha, a vehicle, a business opening. A muhurat weighs the day’s tithi, nakshatra and yoga against your own chart, and avoids Rahu Kaal and the other inauspicious windows — which is why two people can be given different dates for the same kind of event.
Puja and Graha Shanti — the remedies
Navagraha and Graha Shanti, Mangal, Nadi, Kaal Sarp and Pitra Dosha shanti, Shani Sade Sati, Maha Mrityunjaya. Performed by experienced pandits, at a temple, at home, or online for families who cannot be present.
Why the calculations here are Nepali, not generic
Nepal keeps its own calendar and its own reckoning. The panchanga on this site is computed for Kathmandu at UTC+5:45 on the Bikram Sambat calendar, not converted from an Indian almanac — which matters, because a sunrise half an hour out moves Rahu Kaal, shifts a tithi boundary, and can put a festival on the wrong day.
The same care applies to the readings. Vedic astrology has its own vocabulary — lagna, dasha, dosha, yoga — and we would rather explain what a term means than have you accept a conclusion you cannot check.
